Job Overview:
The Movement Operations Supervisor will play a critical role in overseeing all movement operations activities in Ireland. This position is essential for ensuring that the organized movement of persons needing international migration assistance is conducted efficiently and in accordance with IOM’s operational standards. The successful candidate will coordinate travel arrangements for migrants and refugees, ensuring compliance with established procedures and guidelines. This role requires a strong understanding of movement operations, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders. The supervisor will also be responsible for maintaining the integrity of travel documentation and providing pre-departure counseling to beneficiaries, ensuring their needs are met during the travel process.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Movement Operations Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and booking travel for individuals based on their travel-ready status. This includes distributing Advance Booking Notifications (ABNs), managing updates, domestic flights, cancellations, and departure notifications. The supervisor will ensure that all bookings are completed in a timely manner, adhering to the Handbook of IOM Tariffs (HIT) and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

They will compile and analyze descriptive statistics using I-GATOR to capture costs and prepare travel loan paperwork. Additionally, the supervisor will create movement data files for all individuals, identify and assign escorts for vulnerable individuals, process exit permission paperwork, and conduct identity and document verification. Regular feedback on work progress will be provided to the Senior Project Associate, and the supervisor will maintain confidentiality and integrity of all relevant paperwork, alerting management of any non-compliance with SOPs or codes of conduct.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of five years of relevant working experience with secondary education or three years of relevant working experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Studies, Political Science, International Relations, Psychology, or related fields. Accredited universities must be listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database. Strong communication skills, advanced computer skills, and experience with Movement Operations-related databases and systems are essential. Candidates should also demonstrate good administrative, reporting, and organizational skills.

Educational Background:
A secondary education is required for candidates with five years of relevant experience, while a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is necessary for those with three years of experience. The educational qualifications must be from accredited institutions recognized by the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.

Experience:
Candidates should have prior experience in Movement Operations, transportation-related roles, or management, with a strong advantage for those who have worked with international humanitarian organizations or in multi-cultural settings. Experience working with vulnerable groups such as migrants, refugees, and internally displaced persons is also beneficial. A background in managing operations in a diverse environment will be highly regarded.

Languages:
Fluency in English, both oral and written, is mandatory. Knowledge of IOM’s official languages, which include French and Spanish, is advantageous and will be evaluated during the selection process through written and/or oral assessments.
